Infinitive

כָּנַס

Collect, enfold, gather, assemble

You create the infinitive by adding a lamed, hey, yod in front of the shoresh.

לְהִיכַּנֵס

To enter.

Present Tense

Masculine Singular נִכְנָס
Feminine Singular נִכְנֶסֶת
Masculine Plural נִכְנָסִית
Feminine Plural נִכְנָסוֹת

Past Tense

To conjugate a paal verb in the past tense, start with the third person masculine singular. I am going to show you a table with all the conjugations, but you can pretend that we started it with only the fourth row filled in.

3 נִכְנַסְתְ את
4 נִכְנַס הוּא
5 נִכְנְסָה היִא

Future Tense

Future tense is similar, but there is an additional rule. The rule is first person deletes yod. We begin again with the third person masculine singular.

4 יִיכָּנֵס הוּא
5 תִּיכָּנֵס היא

Imperative

In imperative we also have the rule of suffix deletes the vav.

1 הִיכָּנֵס אתה
2 הִיכָּנְסִי את
3 הִיכָּנְס אתם\ן
